Presentation Home Task

Class 7 Home Task- Summer term

The homework for half term will be linked to this term’s home task. I’d like you to prepare a 5 minute oral presentation ready to present to the class during the next half term. For your presentation you’ll have two choices, one will be linked to our topic this term, ‘Our Planet’, the other will be linked to the World Cup (see the details below). We’ll start giving our presentations to the rest of the class from the third week back, (week beginning 16^th June- although we may decide for this date to be later) so it’d be a good idea to start preparing over half term! I’ll draw up a timetable at random for when you’ll be giving your presentation ready to give out after half-term.

Obviously, we’ll be looking at how well you speak when presenting, so think about your volume, speaking with expression and speaking clearly. You are encouraged to use props, pictures, photos, diagrams, drawings, PowerPoint presentations, music, videos- or anything else you can think of to help make your presentations more interesting but please remember the focus in on your speaking skills!

Our Planet:

- Choose one of the issues affecting our planet and create a presentation about this:

·         Global warming/ climate change

·         Poverty

·         Pollution

·         Deforestation

You can focus on our country or another country or a number of countries being affected- up to you! Tell us about what the issues is, what’s causing it, who it’s harming, what is being done about it and what we can do to try and help!

World Cup:

- Choose a country taking part in this year’s World Cup and create a presentation all about them! You can focus on the football side of things- great players, their history etc. - or focus on the country itself- where it is, interesting facts, history, famous people etc. It’s completely up to you!

If you need any help or advice please let me know. If you'd really like to do a different topic for your presentation speak to me when we're back in school- I really can't see it being a problem!
